The New Age of Football Programmes
Programmes
Programmes
My graphic arts research project was about football programmes and the decline of their design from the 60s-80s to now, and how this has impacted their consumption. The main takeaways I got from my research were that faster and more efficient printing techniques, along with advancements in the internet, significantly reduced the appeal and need for matchday programmes. The aim of this project was to create a new programme that could exist in a contemporary setting. Programmes nowadays are too bulky for the fact that fans can easily access information from the internet for free. The idea was to change the purpose of the programme, making into more of a design led publication that acted souvenir from the game rather than a source of information.
