The New Face of English
Football

Zine
56 years after the momentous World Cup win of 1966 the England Women’s team did the unthinkable, something that both the men and women have failed to do for years. Win the Euros. They became the first England Senior Team to win a major competition since 1966. The Women’s team who competed in the Euros have put themselves up there with some of the greats. People won’t only talk about the men’s 1966 team who won the World Cup, but also the women’s team who won the Euros. In-between the likes of Bobby Moore, Gordon Banks, Geoff Hurst, Bobby Charlton, people will talk about Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, Mary Earps and Chloe Kelly. The Women who ended 56 years of hurt.
The New Face of English Football is a zine which celebrates the successes of the English National Team, from 1966 to the Women’s historic achievement in 2022. Instead of comparing the two achievements, the zine appreciates both victories alongside each other.

The zine aims to make sure that the women’s victory continues to be celebrated, whilst the historic 1966 World Cup win isn’t forgotten either.
